Isometric Fantasy Tactic Game - Commissioned

A fantasy turn-based tactical isometric game I was commissioned for. I joined the project a short while after they had started. They had a character sprite of a spearman, fully made, that I had to adapt the art style to fit. The challenge I faced during this project was making sure that each character felt unique and readable whilst making them fit in with the same faction aesthetic. Combining that with my first-ever isometric project made for a very fun learning experience.

I kept the palette limited so faction colour swaps would be easy, all characters had themed red trim, also aiding this factor.
The finished result was a comprehensive list of units that had standardized frame counts, clear readable gmaeplay animations and satisfying movement all whilst providing heavy amounts of detail.

A series of character attacks. All within 6 frames.

When working isometrically, I found it's essential to work ON the grid the animations will appear on in-game.
